Kerr Fire Fighting Chemicals has achieved registration to ISO 14001 at is dry chemical powder manufacturing facility at Kirkby in Liverpool.

What is ISO 14001?

ISO 14000 is a series of internationally recognised standards on environmental management. It provides a framework for the development of an Environmental  Management System (EMS) and the supporting audit programme. The main thrust for the development came as a result of the Rio Summit on the Environment held in 1992. ISO14001 was first published in 1996 and it is the corner stone of the ISO 14000 series. It specifies a framework of control for an EMS which an organisation can be certified by a third party. 

Why is it important?

Registration to !SO 14001 demonstrates that Kerr Fire Fighting Chemicals implements, maintains and is continually improving its environmental management system. This ensures conformance with the comapny's stated environmental policy commitments and demonstrates compliance with all relevant environmental laws an regulations.
